What to Expect During Your Gutter Services

Gutter replacement varies by home. We remove old gutters and downspouts, inspect fascia and soffits, and repair any rot first. Then we set the correct pitch and fabricate seamless aluminum gutters on site with hidden hangers. We seal only the corners and end caps, install matched downspouts with extensions or splash blocks, and water-test the system for leak-free drainage. Gutter guards are optional.

Gutter Highlights

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of gutters?

Gutters collect rainwater from your roof and move it away from the house to protect your foundation, siding, landscaping, and basement from water damage.

Can I use sealant to stop leaks?

Yes—gutter sealant can be a good temporary fix for small seam or pinhole leaks. If a leak keeps coming back, it usually means there’s a pitch/fastener issue or a failed seam. In those cases, the best fix is to re-hang, re-pitch, or replace the problem section.

I live around a lot of trees—what gutters should I get?

Go for 6" K-style gutters with oversized 3"×4" downspouts and a micro-mesh guard.
Micro-mesh keeps out leaves/needles better than basic screens, reduces clogs, and needs less
cleaning. (You’ll still want a quick rinse 1–2× a year.)

Can you move the locations of downspouts?

Yes. We can relocate or add downspouts to improve drainage. We’ll adjust the gutter pitch, route water to a better spot, and add extensions or underground drains if needed. (Pro tip: always discharge water away from the foundation.)

How do I know if my gutters need repair or replacement?

Watch for:

  • Sagging or pulling away from the fascia
  • Leaks at corners/seams, or water overflowing in rain
  • Rust, multiple patches, or peeling paint on fascia
  • Erosion, puddles, or damp basements near downspouts

Minor issues = repair/tune-up; widespread problems or old, dented gutters =
replacement.

How long do gutters last?

With normal maintenance:

  • Aluminum: ~20–30 years (most common)
  • Steel: ~15–25 years
  • Copper: 50+ years
  • Vinyl: ~10–20 years

Regular cleaning and correct pitch help you hit the high end of these ranges.

Quick Tips from Our Crew

● Clean/flush gutters 2× per year (more with heavy trees).

● Ensure a slight pitch toward downspouts so water doesn’t sit.

● Add splash blocks or extensions to carry water 4–6 ft away from the house.

● After big storms, do a quick visual check for clogs or loosened hangers.
